Every day, sound impacts your wellbeing, effectiveness and happiness.

The natural acoustics of different geographical areas of the earth have a substantial effect on the lives of people, all ancient cultures were strongly auditory.

For increasing numbers of people today, the' prevailing soundscape is that of city life. The effect is to push us into a mood of nostalgia for disappearing and lost sounds.

The keynote sounds of a landscape are those created by the soundscape and climate: water, wind, forests, plains, birds, insects and animals.

"A Swedish group, for instance, found that humans in virtual nature environments, complete with sounds, recovered better from stress than those in the same surroundings without sound."

The sound of water.

Ocean, Seas and Lakes

What was the first sound heard? It was the caress of the waters. It is the fundamental of the original soundscape and the sound which above all others gives us the most delight in its myriad transformations and the calm of its eternity. Water never dies. It lives forever reincarnated as rain, as bubbling brooks, as waterfalls and fountains, as swirling rivers and deep sulking rivers.
Rain, a stream, a fountain, a river, a waterfall, the sea, each makes its unique sound but all share a rich symbolism. They speak of cleansing, of purification, of refreshment and renewal.

Stochastic Sounds

Nature sound is stochastic, which means it is composed of many small, random events that combine to create a pleasing wash with no significant individual events to grab your attention. Examples are moderate birdsong, gentle rainfall, gentle running water like babbling streams and small waterfalls or fountains, mild wind in leaves or grass.

The sound of life

Perhaps all sound memories turn into romances. And the more quickly new sounds are hurled at us the more we are thrust back into the wells of memory, attractively fictionalizing the sounds of the past, smoothing them out into peaceful fantasies.

Bird-songs

Normal birdsong makes most people feel safe. The birds have been singing for millions of years, and we have learned through the ages that normal birdsong means all is well. Birdsong is also nature’s alarm clock, telling us that it’s time to be awake and thus promoting alertness, this combination of security and wakefulness makes birdsong a very useful sound for working, along with many other activities.

Sounds of Animals

Some relaxing animal sounds include; Whales sounds, croaking frogs, screeching dolphins, tapping woodpecker, hooting owls. Forest sounds can help you fall asleep faster and sleep soundly.

Insects, Nature's Orchestra

When insects produce sounds repeatedly for certain periods of time, they are said to be singing.  a deep appreciation of insect song has been evident in Asian cultures. The finest insect singers were given endearing names that described their songs or habitats, such as jin zhong (golden bell), jiao ge-ge (singing brother), kusa-hiban (grass lark), yabu-suzu (little bell of the bamboo grove), and aki-kaze (autumn wind). These names demonstrate an aesthetic sensibility that is well refined.

White Noise

White noise refers to a noise that contains all frequencies across the spectrum of audible sound in equal measure.
Researchers have studied the effect of white noise on humans for many years, finding evidence it can reduce crying in infants, improve work performance, and potentially help counteract symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Multiple studies have also examined how white noise may affect human sleep.

White noise is often used as masking noise. If a masking noise is uninterrupted and not too loud, and if it has no information content, it will become an acceptable background noise and will suppress other objectionable intruding noises, making them sound psychologically quieter.
